PELVIC FLOOR Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a urogynecological branch of physical therapy treating dysfunctions related to structures in and around the pelvis. Common conditions treated in pelvic floor physiotherapy include urinary incontinence, anorectal disorders, persistent pelvic pain, pregnancy/postpartum and pelvic organ prolapse.
At Integral Performance Physio, we treat pelvic health conditions with a multi-disciplinary approach. Our team consists of osteopaths, massage therapists, and physical therapists who collaborate to treat patients from a holistic perspective.
The goal of pelvic floor physiotherapy is to restore function in the pelvic region by assessing and targeting structures in the area. It involves pelvic floor muscle contraction & relaxation, release of muscles and connective tissue, breathing, relaxation techniques, exercise prescription, stretching and biofeedback as needed. The musculoskeletal, neural and connective tissues systems are all addressed to have a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to treating each individual’s conditions.
